Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has thanked the members of Bangladesh Police for maintaining law and order and traffic system through performing their responsibility with utmost professionalism during the holy Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
The Prime Minister extended her thanks to the senior police officials including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmud Khandakar while exchanging Eid greetings with a cross section of people at her official Ganobhaban residence here on Monday, a Police Headquarters press release said on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister mentioned that the members of police force made tireless efforts to maintain law and order and ensure safe movement of the home-goers by keeping movement of vehicles normal on the highways and roads during Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
“For this, I extend my sincere thanks to the members of the police force at all levels including the IGP and the Dhaka metropolitan police commissioner (DMP),” she said.
Additional IGP AKM Shahidul Haque, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Md Mokhlesur Rahman and DMP Commissioner Benzir Ahmed were present on the occasion, among others, the release said.
