Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered to take stern actions against attackers of Ducsu Vice President Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters in Ducsu office on Sunday, Awami League General Secretary and the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said it.
“Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given a clear instruction to take organisational and administrative action against the attackers,” Quader said.
He quoted from the Prime Minister that ‘Legal action will be taken against those whoever were involved with the attack.’
“Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Sunday visited
the injured VP Nur and his supporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital as per instruction of the Prime Minister,” Quader said at his ministry office while talking to the journalists.
The AL leader also condemned the attack and said the persons who attacked Nur and his supporters in broad day light must face legal action.
When asked about Muktijuddha Mancha activists who were also involved with the incident, he said he talked to the Home Minister on this matter and asked him to take action against them.
He termed the incident as embarrassing to the party.
At least 27 persons were injured in the attack carried out around 12:45pm on VP Nur and his supporters on Sunday.
Dhaka University Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani went to the spot around 1:00pm and sent 20 of the injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
