The news of the declaration of a public holiday in the country from March 26 to April 4 is fake, said Md. Abdul Mannan, Secretary of the Health Service Division.
He said this in response to a query from reporters on Sunday afternoon.
However, the public relations officer of the Ministry of Health has sent an emergency press release to the media regarding the fake news.
The emergency press release said it was noticed that the scroll of some television channels was broadcasting a fake statement regarding the seven-day holiday of Health Service Division Secretary Abdul Mannan. The health secretary said the “statement was false and unfortunate.”
Md. Abdul Mannan did not give any statement to the effect that a public holiday may be declared in the country from March 26 to April 4.
The emergency press release also requested to remove the news immediately.
