Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former MP, veteran Language Movement activist and valiant Freedom Fighter Abul Hashem.
Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League President, prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy for his bereaved family members, reports UNB.
Abul Hashem, who was elected a member in the 1970 National Assembly elections from the then East Pakistan, breathed his last at 7:30am on Wednesday at a city hospital at the age of 93.
He left behind wife and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
