PM inaugurates AL’s new central office in city

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on Saturday inaugurated party’s newly constructed central office building in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.
The party chief inaugurated the office on the occasion of the AL’s 69th founding anniversary day.
She unveiled the plaque of the 10-storey building amid a number of ceremonies.
The Prime Minister with ceremonies hoisted the national flag and party’s
General Secretary Obaidul Kader hoisted the party flag. The national anthem was played.
The party chief released pigeons and balloons and planted a sapling in front of the building. A munajat was offered on the occasion.
Later, the prime minister flanked by central leaders of the party visited different rooms of the office building.
The building, constructed on eight kathas of land with modern facilities, will have offices for the party president, general secretary, presidium members, joint general secretaries and associate organisations.
The office is equipped with a digital library, VIP lounge, journalists’ lounge, prayers room, restroom, dormitory and canteen.
The name of ‘Bangladesh Awami League’ has been inscribed with large steel alphabets on the building’s front side. Party symbol Boat is next to that.
A mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is on the upper side of the building and other historic murals have also been set on the building.
