Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday congratulated Jair Messias Bolsonaro on his election as the President of Brazil.
“It’s my great pleasure to congratulate you, and through you the friendly people of Brazil, on your election as the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Your election came as a reflection of the trust and confidence that the people of Brazil repose on your dynamic leadership in securing Brazil’s rightful place in the world,” she said in a message to Bolsonaro.
The Premier said Bangladesh, a long-standing friend of Brazil, enjoys its close ties with the South American country.
“I hope that with your able guidance, the two countries’ partnership in the days ahead would reach a higher trajectory in a multisectoral context, including in vital and prospective areas such as trade, defence cooperation, agricultural cooperation, health, education, sports,” she said.
