PM goes to Bogra today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina goes to Bogra today on a daylong visit to hand over the National Standard to 12 Lancer of Bangladesh Army as well as to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of 35 development projects involving Taka 767.69 crore.
It will be her maiden visit to Bogra, the biggest industrial town in northern Bangladesh, in seven years. Sheikh Hasina last visited Bogra in 2008, said our Bogra correspondent.
Official sources said the Premier is scheduled to reach Bogra Cantonment at 10 am by an Air Force helicopter and join the National Standard handing over function of 12 Lancer of Bangladesh Army as the chief guest.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of 34 development projects of Taka 767.69 crore through digital electronic board from Altafunnesa Playground.
Of the 34 uplift projects, Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 19 projects involving Taka 346.18 crore and lay foundation stones of 15 projects of Taka 421.51 crore.
After that, Sheikh Hasina, also the President of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), will address a public meeting to be organized by the AL district unit at 2.30 pm at Altafunnesa Playground.
The people of Bogra are eagerly waiting to accord a rousing reception to the Prime Minister. The entire town has already been decorated with huge numbers of colorful banners and festoons to greet Sheikh Hasina.
Hundreds of arches with digital banners inscribed with the portraits of Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been set up on the 40-kilometer highway from Chandaikona, Bogra’s gateway, to the district town.
