PM can’t pass buck to Latif, says Rafiqul

BNP leader barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah on Saturday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cannot pass the buck to Latif Siddiqui for his recent anti-Islamic remarks as he being a cabinet member carries collective responsibility in a parliamentary form of government.
“The Prime Minister and her cabinet must take the responsibility for its
President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, said an official here.
The visit will bring an opportunity for the Bangladesh Prime Minister to meet the leaders of over 50 Asian and European countries during the two-day summit.
The theme of the 10th ASEM Summit is ‘Responsible Partnership for Growth and Security’ that reflects the enlarging scope of the EU-Asia relationship.
The meeting will provide a key opportunity to convey a strong message of commitment to Asia, according to ASEM.
Both Europe and Asia want to act responsibly, abiding by their joint commitment to environmental protection, social dialogue, eradicating poverty, promotion and protection of human rights.
ASEM is increasingly moving towards a broader-based partnership to address jointly global and regional challenges, according to its official website.
