Plot allocation case ACC summons ex-minister, three others

Four persons, including former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Alamgir Kabir, were summoned by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday.
ACC Deputy Director Jatan Kumar Roy sent them notices asking for their personal appearance on September 21 in the Commission Head Office.
Apart from Alamgir, the National Housing Authority’s Member (Land and Asset Management) M Azharul Huq, officers Munsurul Alam and Matiur Rahman were also summoned.
They will be interrogated on the allegation that they allocated government land to members of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) faction at Mirpur and Pallabi in 2006 at a lower price.
The Commission will also question other 15 people on September 22 and 23 in this regard. They are yet to be sent notices.
On March 3 this year, ACC filed a case against four persons in this connection.
