A court in Dhaka has sent model Faria Mahbub Piyasha to jail after remand in a case filed in connection with college girl Mosarat Jahan Munia rape and murder.
A second-year student and HSC exam candidate at Mirpur Cantonment Public School and College, Mosarat Jahan Munia was found hanging in a posh apartment at city’s Gulshan area.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Debabrata Biswas ordered to send Piyasha to jail on Thursday after rejecting a bail prayer of her.
It may be mentioned that Faria Mahbub Piyasha is the former daughter-in-law of Apon Jewelers’ owner Dilder Selim.
Earlier, investigation officer of the case PBI inspector Golam Moktar Ashrafuddin pleaded to the court to keep Piyasha detain in jail after producing her on completion of her two-day remand.
On behalf of Piyasha, her lawyer pleaded for bail, while the public prosecutor opposed the bail plea of her.
After hearing both sides, the court ordered to send Piyasha to jail rejecting her bail prayer.
