A month-long photographic exhibition on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman began at the Art Gallery Auditorium of Shilpakala Academy here on Tuesday.
Agriculture Minister and Awami League (AL) presidium member Begum Matia Chowdhury inaugurated the photo exhibition organised by Bangladesh Awami Jubo League (JL), youth associate body of AL.
JL organised the programme as part of its month-long programme marking the 42nd martyrdom of the Father of the Nation, who was assassinated along with most of his family members by a group of disgruntled army personnel on August 15 in 1975.
Photographs of different activities and incident of August 15 of Bangabandhu, the greatest Bengali of thousand years, are being displayed at the Art Gallery in the exhibition which is open for all from 11 am to 8 pm everyday till August 31.
Speaking on the occasion, Matia Chowdhury lauded the contribution of youths in different democratic activities mentioning the supreme sacrifices of Shaheed Noor Hossain.
Referring to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the senior AL leader said the country is heading towards tremendous development which, meantime, gained worldwide appreciation.
JL Chairman Mohammad Omar Faroque Chowdhury presided over the inaugural function, also addressed by JL general secretary M Harunur Rashid and noted singer Momtaz Begum, MP.
