Cabin crew of Emirates Airlines Nahida Nipa Khan did not confine her life in comfort and enjoyment, but chose a life of doing something for the have-nots. She often asked her father about them and came to know how all these people have been deprived of basic necessities and how did they lose their homes in the river erosion and to the lad devourers. So, she took an way of supporting the needy people with foods, cloths and temporary shelters education and medicine.
she had taken up trips to go and spend time during her vacations in her ancestral village (about 217 miles away from Dhaka city and takes about 8 to 10 hours journey by road from Dhaka city) used to be once upon a time. These are the areas in Bangladesh which are adversely affected by flooding.
Now, she continued going to visit those areas during vacations from her work place in the middle east and slowly.
At the time of flood during the year of 2002, she started her journey by providing food for amongst 100 children each from 3 villages located by the river bank where most of the flood displaced.
Nahida Nipa says, “Needless to say, I have been very fortunate to be working for an international airline as a Flight Purser. I purchased a small piece of there during 2005 after I received a Good Sum of Yearly Bonus and provided shelter for homeless people. For all these years, I have fortunately been able to help people in my home country through not only the monthly pay, but also the travel perks helped me to visit my project frequently over the years,” Nahida Nipa Khan, told this contributor recently.
