Home Minster Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday said that common people have provided vital information to the law enforcing agencies about the militants and their suspected hideouts.
The law enforcers, mainly detectives, are honestly working to curb militancy and terrorism based on information provided by the self-motivated people, he said.
The minister told this to reporters after an inaugural ceremony tiled ‘Digital Excess Control System and Watch Tower’ at secretariat yesterday morning.
“The peaceful countrymen have been providing the information about the militants and terrorism as they want to eliminate such heinous acts. The law and order situation in the country is comparatively better than others countries across the world,” he claimed.
Earlier in his inaugural speech, Asaduzzaman Khan said that they have already installed some scanners and archways on the secretariat Gate No 1, 2 and 5 to ensure the safety of the heart of administration by checking luggage and bodies of visitors and employees.
Around 20,000 people, including VIPs and others staff, enter the secretariat through over 3,000 vehicles in every day.
The minister said the concerned administration also issued ‘smart card’ under the ‘Electronic Excess Control System’ for the permanent employees.
The authorities also have installed seven watch towers, 419 CCTVs and some recording tools inside and outside of the boundaries to monitor the security of the prime administrative center of the government, he said.
He added the government will also set up vehicle scanner at secretariat’s gates within a short time.
