Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP has said the people of all communities are living in peace in Bangladesh as the country is being run on the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the 187th birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ramakrishna and a two-day annual festival organized by Dinajpur Ramakrishna Ashram and Ramakrishna Mission in Dinajpur town as the chief guest on Friday.
Iqbalur Rahim said people irrespective of their religion, caste and creeds, including Santan Hindu community, are working in high positions in the administration which was absent during the tenure of other previous governments, reports BSS.
“Although people like Gayeshwar Roy were in state power, they did not protect the interests of people of the Santan Hindu community,” he said. He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu dreamed of building a prosperous Bangladesh irrespective of religions, castes and creeds and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working with people of all religions to realize that dream.
“People of all religions should be respected. The present government has ensured equal rights for all people in our country and they are observing own religious festivals without any hindrance,” the whip said.
