8 foreigners held while fishing in BD territory

UNB, Chittagong :Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard detained eight foreign nationals and their two Bangladeshi watchmen from the Karnaphuli Bridge ghat here on Thursday night for illegally fishing in the Bangladeshi water territory.The coastguards also seized a trawler, ‘FV Namnavee’, worth about Tk 7.5 crore from the S Alam Jetty area of the Karnaphuli River.The arrested foreigners include five Thai nationals and three Myanmar citizens.Operation officer of Coast Guard (East Zone) Lt Commander M Mohiuddin said a team of the force,...
