BCL admission trade: PCJ threatens tougher progs

Progatishil Chhatra Jote (PCJ), an alliance of left-leaning student organisations, has threatened to launch tougher programmes, including mass hunger, at Narayanganj Government Women’s College if the college authorities do not complete admission process of HSC level maintaining transparency by Monday.
The announcement came at a press a press conference organised by PCJ at the college on Sunday noon. Reading out a written statement at the conference, Jahid Sujan, president of Narayanganj district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation, urged the college authorities to cancel admission of those were enrolled illegally.
PCJ alleged that college principal Gopal Chandra Saha has taken stance in favour of admission trade of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Allegations are rife that BCL, the student wing of the ruling Awami League, has created pressure on the college authorities to enroll students of their choices.
Pressurised, the authorities also enrolled students out of merit list triggering uproar among admission seekers and their guardians.
