PBS holds digital training

Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and Chattogram Palli Bidyut Samity-3 (PBS-3) jointly organized a free digital training program in three upazilas Mirsarai, Sitakunda and Hathazari as a part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.Chattogram PBS 3 General Manager Shah Zulfiqar Haider initiated this as per the direction of Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) to Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad.
At least 90 trainees from Mirsarai, Sitakunda and Hathazari Upazilas participated the training so far from three separate locations through digital technology. About 116 electricians are now working in Mirsarai Economic Zones wiring works under PBS after successfully passed the training arranged by PBS-3.
Talking about the digital training, Chattogram PBS 3 General Manager Shah Zulfiqar Haider said, “Despite limitations of allocation, we are providing training on voluntary basis and participants haven’t paid any fee through digital means.
As a result trainers are being able to give training to all at three locations at a time. Through this system, trainees of any location can participate in the training. This digital training will enable to hold trainings for few hundred trainees at a time and also solve trainers’ scarcity problem especially for rural areas, he added.
Earlier, Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) to Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad instructed different organizations to arrange various technical training for employment generation in Economic Zones during his visit to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar recently.
Besides, Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) is working to create employment opportunities in Economic Zones all over Bangladesh. The largest government owned “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpanagar” comprising of Mirsarai and Sitakunda of Chattogram and Sonagazi of Feni district which is being developed on around 30,000 acres of land.
CUJA elects new executive committee: Chittagong University Journalists’ Association (CUJA) on Monday elected its new executive body for the next year.
Abdullah Al Faisal of local daily Azadi was elected as president, Miraz Bappy of daily Bangladesh Barta as Vice-president, and Jobaer Chowdhury of national daily Bonik Barta as General secretary.
The election was held at Chittagong University’s (CU) proctor office from 10am to 2pm.
CU Assistant Proctor Niaz Morshed conducted the polls as chief election commissioner.
