PBCP men active again in Khulna, common people in fear

Members of banned Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) has started again their evil deeds including realization of extortion, killing and grabbing lands in Khulna region by giving threat over cell phones. They have changed their styles of realization of extortion. Over phones, the leaders of the party send their representatives to the persons whom are targeted by them and ask to give extortion in the name of expenses for eating sweetmeats and other necessaries . The PBCP leaders are divided into different parts , they hide themselves from the society and common people are unknown about their hidden den. Of course, they sometimes enter in the locality wearing masks and as such the local people can not recognize them. Members of law enforcers now and then conduct drives but the insurgents mange to escape from the scene.  
Sources said, these PBCP members are very familiar to the common people, their faces are well known, but the common people never dare to say their names or identities in fear of losing their. Taking this opportunity, they have been committing their ill-deeds without any hesitation. They do not do any job or any business, but only by taking realization of extortion, they have piled hills of wealth and money years after years and they are untouched by the law enforcers. Sometimes, some of them were killed in gunfight with law enforcing agencies and gunfights with themselves or the members of their opposite parties. After a few months, they have again started their underground business. They have fire arms, heavy guns and bullets, sources added.
Different sources said, these outlaw persons sometimes are arrested by the law enforcers but after getting bails they begin their brisk business in the full swing. For this reason people of all walks always in fear and anxieties as the PBCP members take extortion even from a small shopkeeper or small trader.
At different places of Khulna city and nine upazila areas of the district, these banned PBCP men have been annoying, victimized persons alleged.
In the last four decades, more than 70 persons including journalists , political leaders and public representatives were killed in the hands of different banned extremist terrorists, according to the law enforcers.. Most of the killings were occurred due to political revenge. But the godfathers who instigated these killings are yet to be untouched due to unknown mysterious reason. This is nothing but failure of the members of law enforcers, experts think.
Sources said, most of these killings were occurred by outlaw members, hired killers and different political parties’ cadres, but due to mysterious reason, the “godfathers (Big-wigs)” have not yet been arrested by the members of law enforcers.
At least 15 journalists were killed in the last two eras. Journalist Harunur Rashid Khokon, crime reporter of a local Bangla daily Purbanchal published from Khulna was killed on March2, 2002, Journalist Humayun Kabir Balu, editor of a local Bangla daily Janmobhumi, former President of Khulna Press Club and also an eminent journalist of south-western region, was killed brutally at his residence for bomb attack by the miscreants on June 14, 2006, Journalist Manik Saha, former Khulna Correspondent of Bangla daily Sangbad and BBC Radio was killed at Khulna Press Club Premises on January 25, 2006. Besides, some other journalists of Khulna named Belal Ahmed, Nahar Ali , Shukur Ali and others were also killed by the miscreants.
Advocate Monjurul Imam, a prominent lawyer of Khulna Bar Association and also a former Awami League leader and his assistant lawyer Bijon Bihari Mondol were killed brutally on August 25, 2003. CPB leader Comrade Ratan Sen was killed on July 31, 1992 in front of Khulna DC office and also the office of the then Police Superintendent (SP). Awami Jubo League leader Shahid Iqbal Bithar was killed on July 11, 2009.Jatyo Party leader Sardar Saleh Ahmed was killed on November 11, 1998. At least half a dozen of Public Representatives were also killed in the last four decades in Khulna. On February 25, 1995, a JCD leader of Daulatpur Govt. B.L. College named Abul Kalam Azad Chowdhury ( The Then general secretary of JCD, B.L.College unit) was killed at B.L. College gate.
On condition of anonymity, a retired official of an Intelligence Wing said, due to non taking any step against the godfathers, fund donors and planners of the killings, the murderer are encouraging to kill serially without any hesitation at nine upazila areas of Khulna district and also in Khulna city under Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).
