Patients now get healthcare services through online

Prime Minister’s Political Advisor HT Imam said many patients are now getting healthcare services through online due to progress in digitization. “Bangladesh is marching ahead using modern technology and internet in the health sector, as physicians provide better treatment in the country,” he said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city. Addressing the inaugural function of three-day long 6th Meditex Bangladesh 2014 International Expo and 4th Pharma Bangladesh 2014 International Expo, he said local doctors successfully completed bone marrow transplantation recently and patients are receiving better treatment in the country. “We have a longtime vision to make Bangladesh a developed country by 2041 and the government ensured healthcare service at door step across the country”, Imam stated. Chaired by the president and group managing director of CEMS, Bangladesh, Meherun N Islam, opening ceremony of the expo was also addressed by state minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque and health secretary MM Neazuddin. Zahid Maleque stressed ensuring spare parts and maintenance arrangement while supplying medical equipment to hospitals, as many equipment became inoperative due to lack of maintenance and unavailability of spare parts.
“Our hospitals maintained equipment for providing better treatment to patients, but some of them are out of order due to inadequate maintenance arrangement and spare parts,” he said. Zahid mentioned that Bangladesh needs cost effective good equipment, With international participation of companies from several countries the expo is showcasing world famous equipment and technology by bringing world class medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and hospital equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
Later, HT Imam formally inaugurated the expo and visited some stalls.
The expo will remain open for traders and visitors from 10am to 7pm every day till May 10.
