Passport officer stabbed in Bogra

A passport official was stabbed by unknown miscreants in broad daylight in Bogra town on Thursday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Shahazan Kabir, 37, Assistant Director of the local passport office, said our Bogra correspondent quoting police.
He sustained stab injuries in his head, hand and leg, said Nirmalendu Chowdhury, Seputy Director of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
The process of taking to Dhaka by an air ambulance for better treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) immediately, the doctor said.
The attackers swooped on him with sharp weapons when he was going to Jahangirabad Cantonment Bus Stand by a battery-run auto-rickshaw around 1:30pm from his office, said Sonaton Chakraborty, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bogra.
Police are trying to arrest the attackers, the police official said.
Sources said, Shahazan met the consequence as he refused to comply with the request of a local Jubo League man for issuing a passport, local sources said.
The attack might be the sequel to the event, they said.
