The High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Shawkat Aziz, son of Partex Group Chairman MA Hashem, in a case filed over recovering bullets from his vehicle.
The HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice AKM Zahirul Huq granted him bail until the submission of police report before the judicial court in the case.Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud stood for Shawkat while deputy attorney general Sarwar Hossain Bappi represented the state.
On November 1, police recovered 28 rounds of bullets, 200 Yaba tablets, 24 bottles of liquor, 48 cans of bear and Tk 22,300 cash from the vehicle of Shawkat Aziz on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sighboard area under Siddhirganjupazila of Narayanganj district. Police also arrested its driver. Two cases were filed against Shawkat.
