FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonien Chess Club took lead in the points table of the 10th Amrito Lal Dey International Rating Chess Tournament after 6th round games at Abdul Khaleq Pathagar in Barisal on Wednesday.
Parag earned 5.5 points to take the top slot while Shafiq Ahmed of Titas Club bagged 5 points to secure the second position from their six rounds.
Six players – – FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed and FM Khadakar Aminul Islam (Navy), FM Debaraj Chatterjee (Titas Club), Chanchal Kumer Ghosh (Khulna), Abdul Momin (Mir Chess Club) and Dewan Shahidul Amin (Sonali Bank SRC) – jointly secured the fourth place securing 4.5 points each.
In the 6th round, Parag beat Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Shafiq beat Mohammed Enayet Hossain, Nasir played draw against Amin, Debaraj drew with Shahidul, Chanchal defeated Abu Taleb Kuranu, Momin beat Kingshuk Das and WIM Rani Hamid drew with Sawkat Hossain Pollab.
