President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hassan Papon said, ” Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket and Dhaka Premier League (DPL) will not be held without the invention of vaccine of coronavirus and the total improvement of the coronavirus situation.
Papon also said, “Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan can join the Bangladesh National Cricket team.” Bangladesh will leave the city for Sri Lanka on September 23. The Tigers will play a three-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The first Test will start on October 24.
Shakib has been serving a ban, imposed by the ICC last year in October for the all-rounder’s failure in reporting corrupt approaches on three occasions. The premier all-rounder’s ban is set to come to an end on October 29.
“I won’t mention what I had discussed with Shakib. But as soon as his ban is over, he will join the national team,” hinted Nazmul.
He went on to say, “If the situation improves or if a vaccine is available, we will start everything. There is another thing that we are not resuming our cricket here. We will basically practice in Sri Lanka where we will play a Test series. Till some days ago, both New Zealand and Sri Lanka were safe but now New Zealand reported new cases. Sri Lanka still remains without any report after some months. That’s why Sri Lanka is safe now.”
