UNB, Dhaka :Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to make a stopover here for an hour early Sunday on his way to Japan.The President along with his entourage will reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airportaround 12.30 am on Sunday and leave the country at 1.30 am, an official told UNB on Friday adding that his stay might be even longer.The immigration authorities at the airport have already been asked to take necessary steps in this regard.Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will welcome the Palestinian President and his entourage at the airport, said the official at the Palestine Embassy in Dhaka.State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, Chief of Protocol Asad Alam Siam and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be present. All the Arab heads of missions in Dhaka will also be present to greet Abbas.Later, Palestinian Embassy in a statement said for the continuous international support of Bangladesh in Palestinian concern, President Mahmoud Abbas, will make his first stopover in Bangladesh while continuing his tour to three other Asian countries.
