Palak inaugurates ICT based women entrepreneur model ‘Kalyani’

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junayed Ahmed Palak on Saturday inaugurated innovative woman entrepreneur model ‘Kalyani’ to integrate rural women with the development through the use of ICT.
He unveiled the logo of Kalyani through a video conference at Natore deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference room connecting 16 districts.
Speaking as chief guest on this occasion, the state minister said the government is working to develop a Digital Bangladesh by creating a technology based educated manpower in the country.
The country’s export income in information technology sector would surpass US$ 700 million by the end of the current year and it will reach US$ 5 billion by 2021, he added.
He said the country’s economic growth could be increased to 10 percent from 7 percent by integrating women fully with the development activities.
In view of this, an initiative has been taken to develop woman entrepreneurs ‘Kalyani’ to integrate women with the mainstream of development, he added.
Presided over by Natore DC Shaheena Khatun, the function was also addressed by Department of ICT Director General Banomali Bhoumik, I Social Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ananya Raihan, Natore District Council Administrator Advocate Sajedur Rahman Khan, Natore Municipality Mayor Uma Chowdhury and ‘Kalyani’ Sahara Khatun.
