Pakistan announces 18-man squad for Asia Cup camp

Pakistan have not yet announced their main squad for the Asia Cup, but Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced 18-man squad for the camp on Friday. Former captain Azhar Ali have been left out of the squad.
From the 26-man squad, the selectors trimmed it to 18-man for the final phase of training. Chief selector Inzamum Ul Haq announced the 18-man squad after discussing with skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and coach Mickey Arthur on Friday.
The final phase of the training is set to take place in Lahore from 3rd to 10th September before they travel to Dubai to play the Asia Cup, which starts from 15th September.
Imad Wasim and opening batsman Shan Masood are on course for a return to the national team. The men in green have been placed in Pool A in the six-nation Asia Cup along with old rivals India. The most awaiting match will be held in Dubai on 19th September.
This year’s Asia Cup will be again held in 50-over ODI format. The last Asia Cup which was held in 2016 was a T20 format where India won the tournament after beating Bangladesh in the final.
18-man squad: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Shan Masood, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Haris Sohail, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Hassan Ali, Usman Khan Shinwari, Mohammed Amir, Junaid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Faheem Ashraf.
