UNB, Dhaka :
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said the government will take action through the Foreign Ministry against Pakistani female diplomat Farina Arshad if her alleged
involvement in militancy is proved.
“The names of many people can be surfaced. But, we don’t want to do anything in a rush unless we could be sure about that. If we get sure about it (Farina’s militancy involvement) we’ll take every necessary action against her through the Foreign Ministry,” he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after attending a press conference on the occasion of the release of an anti-drug and anti-smoking film ‘Sarga Theke Narak’ at a city hotel.
According to different media reports, Farina, the Pakistan High Commission’s second secretary (political), has involvement with some militant groups, including Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
Asaduzzaman said, Pakistan-from which Bangladesh had become Independent through a liberation war-has still continued various plots against the country. “They (Pakistan) have continued their various efforts to embarrass us.”
