The 16th death anniversary of veteran freedom fighter, labour leader and teacher Ahsanullah Master is Thursday.
Marking the day, wreaths will be placed on his grave at his native village Haidrabad under Gazipur City Corporation on behalf of his family members.
The day’s programmes also will include Quran Khwani, wearing black badge, milad and doa mahfils, food distribution and arrangement of iftar.
On this occasion, Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Foundation and Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master MP Smriti Parishad distributed food items among the jobless and poor people in Gazipur on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On behalf of Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Foundation, Ahsanullah Master’s elder son and chief patron of the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master MP Smriti Parishad State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Jahid Ahsan Rasel on Wednesday distributed food items among 10,000 families, including laborers at various places in Pubail, Tongi and Gazipur.
Ahsanullah Master was elected Member of Parliament twice from Gazipur-2 constituency in 1996 and 2001. He was also a national committee member of Awami League and associated with different national and international organizations.
On May 7 in 2004, a group of terrorists patronized by the then four-party alliance government led by BNP, killed him on MA Majid Mia High School ground at Noagaon in the district.
