Paint maker Jotun opens maiden factory in Bangladesh

Jotun Bangladesh Limited, a subsidiary of Norwegian paint manufacturer Jotun Group, has opened its maiden factory in Bangladesh.
Jotun Group, one of the leading paints and coatings manufacturers in the world, is operating in over 100 countries. Jotun Bangladesh Ltd has been operating in the country for the last six years.
Md Jashim Uddin, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), inaugurated the factory at the Meghna Industrial Economic Zone in Sonargaon area of Narayanganj on Tuesday.
Meghna Group of Industries Chairman Mostafa Kamal, Deputy Head of Mission of Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka Silje Fines Wannebo and Jotun Bangladesh Ltd Managing Director Percy Jijina were present at the event.
 “This new factory will allow us to serve our customers better and contribute further to the development agenda of the Bangladesh government through the creation of new employment opportunities, boosting the Gross Domestic Product and infusing further Foreign Direct Investment into the economy,” said Percy Jijina, managing director of Jotun Bangladesh Ltd.
