A Dhaka Court on Tuesday deferred submission of the re-investigation report in a case filed in connection with sexual harassment of several women during Pahela Baishakh celebrations to August 28.
Magistrate AKM Moinuddin Siddiqui of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order as no such report was submitted to the court on Tuesday on behalf of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).
Earlier, on June 26, the court directed PBI to submit the report on August 2. On Tuesday, the court deferred the date for the 5th time.
On April 14, last year, a group of youths allegedly assaulted and sexually harassed some women at Suhrawardy Udyan gate near Dhaka University’s TSC during Pahela Baishakh celebrations. The following day, SI Abul Kalam Azad of Shahbagh Police Station filed the case with the police station.
