Pahela Baishakh celebrated in Excelsior Sylhet

Excelsior Sylhet , a reputed hotel and resorts on Thursday celebrated Bengali New Year, the traditional Pahela Baishakh at Khadimnagar in Sylhet city with different programmes.
The New Year celebration was started with the traditional games cycle competition, good hand writing, art competition, swimming competition and cultural programme and traditional Bengali food festival.
Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Secretary of Road Transport and Highway Division inaugurated the Baishakhi celebration as Chief Guest. Hemayet Hossain, Editor, National Desk ,The New Nation , eminent businessman and cultural personality Siraj Haque , teacher Ishrat Chowdhury ,BTV Singer Shamsun Naher, The New Nation Sylhet Correspondent S A Shofiee ,Kulaura Correspondent Mosobbir Ali and Local elite and local businessmen, among others were present on the occasion.
Sayed Chowdhury, MD , Excelsior Hotel and Resorts , Ahmed Ali , Director ( Marketing) of Excelsior welcomed the guests and conducted different programmes which draw the attention of the audience.
People from all walks of life attended the programmes . Bangladeshi traditional foods like Hilsha fish, Bhuna Khichuri, various types of ‘ Bharta ‘, ‘Pitha-Payesh’ and sweetmeat were served among the guests in the lunch.
The hotel area wore festive look and visitors enjoyed the programme with interest.
