The Board of Directors of Padma Islami Life Insurance Limited, in its 156th meeting held on Sunday elected Professor N R M Borhan Uddin, Ph.D as Chairman and Dewan Nurul Islam, as Vice-Chairman of the Company for the next term.
Borhan Uddin, former Vice-Chancellor of City University, obtained his Ph.D. from Stevens Technology, New Jersy and received his MBA and MS from University of pittsburgh, pennsylvania, USA and BSU, Indiana, USA, respectively, said a press release.
Dewan Nurul Islam is a Chartered Accountant and did his MBA in finance with distinction from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. He served as a Director of the Board of Jamuna Oil Company Limited and state owned Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDBL), where he was Chairman of Audit Committee and the Chairman of the Board. Mr. Dewan is the President of the lnstitute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
The Board expected that with the dynamic leadership of the Chairman would he able register a significant growth in the coming days.
