 A total of Tk 3.90 cores collected as taxes in first four days of the seven-day ‘ ninth Income-Tax Fair-2018’ organised by National Board of Revenue (NBR).
The fair started with a slogan of ‘We should go on top of the development : By duly paying taxes’ on November 13 at Barishal Ashwini Kumar Hall.
Abul Kalam Azad , Admin, Taxes Zone, Barishal, giving this facts, said the fair organised for extending services by tax department to earn confidence and credibility from the tax payers and would be ended today ( November 19)night.
In the first four days total 55,849 persons received advises and services from the officials and staffs of taxes department.
The satisfied taxpayers deposited total Tk 2,90,33,382 as income taxes in the fair in last four days.
Besides 7,356 persons submitted their returns and 369 news taxpayers got E-Tin during this time.
The fair arranged for extending hassle-free services by Tax Department to earn confidence and credibility from the tax payers, said Maqbul Hossain Paik, Regional Commissioner of taxes, explaining the cause for arranging the fair.
In the fair 20 booths for issuing tax identification number (TIN), collecting income-tax return, help desk, information centre, bank booths for receiving tax payment, legal advice on income tax and tax calculation were arranged.
Jashore Correspondent reports : A total of 5,507 tax payers, including 164 newly registered people, paid Tk 10, 80, 09,800 as income tax return in a four- day income tax fair held at Jashore Municipal Community Center in Jashore town, Md Shamsuzzaman, Deputy Commissioner, Taxes, Jashore told.
The fair ended on Saturday marking enthusiasm among tax payers.
The office of the deputy commissioner of taxes arranged the fair that was kicked off on 14th November.
The deputy commissioner told Newsmen that they have given services to a total of 10,093 people in four days with 20 per cent growth comparing to the last year fair.
BSS from Rangpur adds : Some 12,795 taxpayers have deposited Taka 10.67 crore income taxes in only six days till Sunday noon at seven income tax fairs being held at different places in Rangpur Income Tax Zone.
“During the period, 39,642 citizens received services and suggestions from income tax officials and 535 new taxpayers registered their e-TIN numbers at these fairs,” Tax Commissioner of Rangpur Zone Md Fazlur Rahman said.
Rangpur Zonal Tax Commissioner’s Office has been organising the week-long divisional level fair at Zila Parishad Community Centre in the city since November 13 last.
Besides, four-day district level six income tax fairs are being held at Dinajpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh since November 14.
