Over 400 Eid congregations to be held in capital

Over 400 Eid jamaats (congregations) will be held in the capital on Wednesday, if the Shawal moon is sighted today (Tuesday).
Main attraction of the festival is Eid congregation. Under the supervision of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), more than 400 congregations will be held at 93 wards in the capital this year.
Around 228 Eid congregations will be held at 57 wards under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) while 180 at 36 wards under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
“Besides, DSCC will organise the Main Eid congregation at National Eidgah, adjacent to the High Court Mazar,” Deputy Social Welfare and Cultural officer of DSCC M Lurfor Rahman told BSS. “Like every year, DSCC is providing Taka 15,000 to every ward to organize the congregation,” he added.
DNCC Acting Welfare and Cultural Officer Amunil Islam said, “DCSS is providing Taka 20,000 to each ward for congregation arrangements…beside the 180 Eid congregations other Eid congregations would also be organised at different playgrounds, mosques and open places.”
The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises at 8.30 am on the Eid day where Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Maulana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman of National Baitul Mukarram Mosque will conduct the Eid Jamaat. Eid Jamaat would be organised at North Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 8 am.
Five Eid jamaat would be held at the National Baitul Mukarram Mosque respectively at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 10.45 am. Several Jaamat would be held at Dhaka University (DU) premises including DU Central Mosque Masjidul Jamia at 8 am and 9 am.
Eid Jamaat would be organised at 8 am at Salimullah Muslim Hall ground adjacent to the main gate while another would be held at Shahidullah Hall lawn at the same time.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) will organised Eid congregation at the Central Jame Mosque at 8 am. Supreme Court Mosque and Mazar Sharif Administration Committee organised Eid Jamaat at Supreme Court Mazar Mosque at 10 am which will be conducted by Pesh Imam, Hafez Mawlana Ahmmod Reja Faruki. Two Eid jamaats will be organised at Baitul Falah Mosque at 7 am and 8 am in Mirpur-11. Eid congregation would be held at Noapaltan Jame Mosque at 8 am, at Khilkhet Kurmitola High School and College Eidgah Maidan at 8 am and 8.45 am, Rasul Bag Jame Mosque at 7.30 am and 8.30 am at Mugda Bank Colony.
