Over 2 lakh to appear at HSC exams in Dinajpur, Jessore

A total of 98,287 candidates, including 47,638 female students, will appear at the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under Dinajpur Education Board (DEB) tomorrow.
Like other boards of the country, the students of 543 colleges will sit for the HSC exams at 178 centers under eight northern districts including Gaibandha of Rangpur division. Assistant controller of examinations of the DEB M Rakibul Islam told BSS this morning.
Of the total, as many as 21,262 students will take part in the exams from Science group, 59,534 from Humanities and 17,491 from Business studies, according to statistics provided by the assistant controller.
Of the candidates, some 18,614 will sit for the exams at 32 centers in Rangpur district, 12,271 at 27 centers in Gaibandha, 12,271 at 20 centers in Nilphamari, 11,324 at 21 centers in Kurigram, 6840 at 10 centers in Lalmonirhat, 11,652 at 39 centers in Dinajpur, 6539 at 17 centers in Thakurgaon and 7,635 at 12 centers in Panchagarh.
Controller of exams of the board M Toffazzur Rahman said all preparations have already been completed to hold the exams in fair and peaceful manner.
BSS from Jessore adds: A total of 1,16,752 candidates including 55,644 female students are going to appear in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under Jessore Education Board (JEB), scheduled to be held tomorrow like other boards of the country.
Jessore Education Board sources said the students will take part in the examinations from around 581 institutions in ten districts under the board and 210 examination centers have been set up. The districts are-Narail, Jessore, Jhenaidah, Magura, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Satkhira, Khulna and Bagerhat district.
Chairman of JEB professor Amirul Alam Khan said the board authorities have taken all out measures to ensure a peaceful environment and prevent cheating at the examination centers.
We have completed almost all the necessary preparations to hold the HSC examinations in smooth and peaceful manner, he added.
Punitive measures will be taken against the institutions which will be found guilty of any irregularity, Controller of Examinations Prof Abu Daud said.
