Both outgoing Air chief Marshal Abu Esrar and its new chief Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad office.
Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat will take over the command of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) on June 12 next for three years.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the new chief while she praised the works of the outgoing chief, said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim while briefing reporters after the meeting.
The outgoing Air chief expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the cooperation extended by her and her government in discharging his duty during his tenure.
Mentioning her government’s attitude for developing the Bangladesh Air Force, Sheikh Hasina stressed the need for making a strong air force in the country.
The Prime Minister hoped that the air force will get stronger under the leadership of the new Air chief.
