The 101st birth anniversary of the commander-in-chief of Bangladesh forces during War of Independence, General Muhammad Ataul Gani Osmani, was observed in Sylhet on Sunday.
Leaders and activists of Osmani Smriti Parishad, a social organisation to promote the valiant son of the soil, visited the grave of Osmani at the graveyard of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) Shrine in the city in the morning. They said prayers seeking eternal piece of the departed soul of MAG Osmani and placed a wreath at his grave.
Osmani Smriti Parishad also arranged a Quran recitation session and a milad mahfil in the mosque of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) Shrine.
