The orientation of the newly-elected executive committee of University Grants Commission (UGC) Officers’ Association was held on Monday in the UGC auditorium.
UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan attended the function as the chief guest and administered the oath to the members of executive committee of the association.
UGC members Prof Mohammad Mohabbat Khan, Prof Abul Hashem, Prof Md Akhtar Hossain, Prof Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah and Prof Dil Afroza Begum spoke on the occasion as special guests, while its secretary Dr Md Khaled presided over the function.
Md Kamal Hossain and Md Mohibul Ahsan have been elected President and General Secretary respectively in the 7th general election to the 11-member Executive Committee of UGC Officers’ Association for two years.
The other office-bearers are Md Omar Faruque and Engineer Mohammad Monir Ullah (vice-presidents), Mohammad Yousuf Ali Khan (joint-secretary), Mohammad Harun Miah (sports and cultural affairs secretary), Md Golam Dastagir (organising and publicity secretary), Khandakar Mahtab Hossainn (treasurer), Md Atwar Rahman, Mohammad Nur Islam Chowdhury and AKM Mahmudur Rahman Miah (members).
Divisional heads, other officials and employees of the commission were present on the occasion.
