Mahnagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee
The holy Dipabali, a religious festival of the Hindu community and cultural function organised by Mahnagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee was held at Shri Shri Dhakeshwari Jatiya Mandir in the city on Sunday. Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder inaugurated the programme. The function was also addressed, among others, by President of Mahnagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee Shailendra Nath Majumder and its General Secretary Advocate Kishore Ranjan Mondal.
Anti-tobacco Media Alliance
A discussion organised by Anti-tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA) and Progga was held in the auditorium of CIRDAP in the city’s Topkhana Road. Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Hasan said the country will be freed from smoking within 2040 as the government has taken different pragmatic steps to eliminate tobacco consumption. The function was also addressed, among others, by Progga Head of Tobacco Control Hasab Shahriar and ATMA Convenor Murtoza Haider Litan presented the findings while ATMA Coordinator Nadira Kiron conducted it. Progga Executive Director ABM Jubair gave the welcome speech. Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique presided over the event.
