Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee
A discussion and award giving ceremony organised by Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee was held at Dhakeshwari National Temple on the occasion of the Janmashtami. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Sunday. While speaking Kamal said the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ensured the religious freedom for all faiths of people in the country. “People of all faiths enjoy religious freedom during the tenure of Awami League government. There is no separation among Hindu, Muslim, Buddha and Christian,” he added. Chairman of the committee Shoilendra Nath Majumder presided over the event. The function was also addressed, among others, by Chairman of Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh Sheikh Kabir Hossain and other leaders of the committee.
Bangladesh Awami Sangskritik Forum
A rally organised by Bangladesh Awami Sangskritik Forum was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme held on Saturday the speakers demanded to bring back fugitive killers of Bangabandhu and masterminds of August 21 grenade attack to the country and execute the verdict pronounced against them. The function was addressed, among others, by Spokesman of the organisation Mujibur Rahman, its Senior Presidium Member Rina Amin and presidium members Palash Thakur and Arifur Rahman Sohel. President of the forum Sheikh Uzzal presided over the event.
