BD Govt College Teachers Council

Marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day different programmes organised by Bangladesh Government College Teachers Council was held on the sixteenth instant in befitting manner. As part of the programme, the council paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing floral wreaths at his mazar in Tungipara. Besides, a discussion on ‘Bangabandhu and other martyrs of August 15 carnage’ organised by the council was held in the auditorium of Tungipara Upazila Parishad. The discussion was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation Dr M Ahmed Mallik and its Joint General Secretary Saidur Rahman Mollah.

Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust

A rally organised by Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust (WBB Trust) was held in front of the Abahani Playground in the city’s Dhanmondi. In the programme held recently the speakers urged the government and other authority concerned to ensure zebra crossing on the highways for the safe movement of women, children and disabled people. Disabled people can play vital role for the development of the society and state if their free access is ensured, they added. Director of WBB Trust Gaus Piari presided over the event. The function was addressed, among others, by Policy Officer of the Institute of Wellbeing ANM Masum Billah Bhuiyan, student of Asian University of Women Sumaiya Tabassum Mim, Network Officer of the organisation Shuva Karmaker and Chairman of Human Rights Disability and Development Rajib Sheikh.
