Nagorik Adhikar Andolon Forum
A discussion organised on the occasion of the 38th martyrdom anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman and Doa Mahfil for good health of BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia by Nagorik Adhikar Andolon Forum was held at Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall Room of the Jatiya Press Club on Sunday. In the programme the leaders of the forum urged the government for immediate release of Begum Khaleda Zia and take necessary steps for her proper treatment. They also prayed for sound health of Khaleda Zia.
Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha
A total of 56 students from poor families were given scholarship under Sadar upazila of Bhola district. Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha in cooperation with PKSF organised
the scholarship giving ceremony at its office recently. Chairman of Bhola District Parishad Abdul Momin Tulu addressed the function as the chief guest. Each student received a cheque of Taka 12,000. At the function, speakers said despite a number of challenges Bangladesh has some remarkable and praiseworthy achievements in the education sector. Distribution of free textbook among the students of primary and secondary levels, increased enrolment rate and eradicating gender inequality in primary and secondary education have already been acknowledged in different international forums, they added. Executive Director of the organisation Zakir Hossain Mahin presided over the event.
