Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad
President and General Secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad Milon Kanti Dutta and Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee respectively in a statement on Monday bitterly criticised setting fire on the house of central leader of the parishad Priya Saha at her village home Charbani under Mativanga Union in Pirojpur district. They expressed grave concern over the incident. The leaders of the parishad urged the authorities concerned to arrest the culprit(s) involved in this heinous crime immediately and give exemplary punishment to avoid such incident further. They also urged the government to take necessary security measures for the religious minorities.
Bangabandhu Academy
A discussion organised by Bangabandhu Academy was held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in the city. Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Monday. While speaking Nasim urged the Jatiya Oikyafront top leaders not to obstruct their newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs)-elect from taking oath. “People, who were elected in the people’s vote, should join the parliament. It cannot be democratic right to obstruct the MPs-elect from taking oath,” he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by AL Advisory Council Member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Dhaka City South AL Joint General Secretary Abdul Huq Sabuj, AL leader Balaram Podder and Krishak League leader MA Karim. Secretary of the organisation Humayun Kabir Miji presided over the event.
