Bangabandhu Parishad
A discussion on ‘Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day’ organised by Bangabandhu Parishad was held at the Jatiya Press Club auditorium. Awami League Advisory Council Member SA Malek was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Saturday. While speaking Malek described Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the only leader who transformed a nation into an entity by establishing independent Bangladesh. He said as long as the Bengali nation and Bangladesh exist, Bangalees will recall Bangabandhu with due respect from the bottom of the heart. The function was also addressed, among others, by Dhaka University VC Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, National University Professor Habibur Rahman, Bangladesh Open University Pro-VC Prof Mokaddem Hossain, former Bangladesh ambassador to Nepal Dr Nim Chandra Bhowmik and Chairman of Political Science of Jagannath University Arun Kumar Goswami.
Bangladesh Khetmajur Samity
Bangladesh Khetmajur Samity, an organisation for establishing rights of working people in rural areas will observe ‘Dabi Dibash’ today all over the country with a call to introduce rural rationing system, stopping of corruption and introduction of pension scheme for the elderly people. The leaders of the samity called upon all rural workers including farm labourers to participate in the programme unitedly to meet the demands of farm labourers.
