Left Democratic Women Organisations
A rally organied by Left Democratic Women Organisations was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Wednesday. In the programme the speakers bitterly criticized repression on women all over the country. They also demanded exemplary punishment to those involved in violating a woman in Subarnachar. The speakers condemned the killing of garment employee Sumon in police firing. They expressed solidaririty with the demands of garment employees. The function was addressed, among others, by President of Sramajibi Nari Moitree Bahnishikha Jamali, General Secretary of Samajtantrik Mahila Forum Engineer Shampa Basu, leader of Communist Party of Bangladesh (Women Cell) Luna Nur, Vice-President of Nari Mukti Kendra Advocate Sultana Akhter Rubi, President of Nari Sanghati Shyamali Shil and Joint Convener of Biplabi Nari Forum Amena Akhter. Educationist AN Rasheda presided over the event.
