A discussion organised to unwrap the cover of a book titled ‘Bangabandhu-Bangladesh: Ek O Avinno’ organised by Sound Bangla was held at the VIP Lounge of the Jatiya Press Club. Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Saturday. While speaking Hanif said Jatiya Oikyafront convenor Dr Kamal Hossain has joined hands with BNP and Jamaat for becoming the president of the country. The event was also addressed, among others, by Dhaka City (South) Awami League General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) General Secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, AL leader Advocate Balaram Poddar and General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarker Rana. Sabujbagh thana Awami League General Secretary Lion Chittaranjan Das presided over the event.
Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad
The 14-party Alliance will hold a view-exchange meeting with different organisations including Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad and freedom fighters’ organisations at 11.30am on Thursday. The meeting will be held at the Priyanka Community Centre, adjacent to Awami League (AL) President’s political office in the city’s Dhanmondi. Awami League Presidium Member and 14-party Alliance Spokesman Mohammed Nasim has requested all concerned to remain present in the meeting in time.
