Save The Environment Movement
A human chain organised by different organisations including Save The Environment Movement was formed in the city’s Baily Road on Tuesday. In the programme the speakers demanded to ensure adulteration-free food including different iftari items. They also urged different agencies of the government to take necessary steps against unholy traders who are involved in making adulterated foods in the unhygienic environment. The human chain was addressed, among others, by President of Nagorik Adhikar Sangrakshan Forum Hafizur Rahman Mayna, President of the Modern Club Abul Hasnat, Member Secretary of Pallima Green Anisul Hossain Tarek, President of Green Environment Movement Manjur Ahmed Chowdhury and President of Bangladesh Anirban Samaj Kalyan Sangha Mohammad Babul. General Secretary of Save The Environment Movement Engineer Abdus Sobhan presided over the function.
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority
A discussion organised by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) was held at the conference room of the Motor Workers Association in Manikganj on Tuesday with a view to growing awareness among the people to reduce road accidents. The authority also brought out a colourful rally on the occasion. The rally was brought out from the collectorate office premises and paraded through the main roads of the town and terminated at the traffic island at Manikganj bus stand.
