Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A memorial meeting marking the 14th martyrdom anniversary of Ivy Rahman, former President of Bangladesh Mahila Awami League and wife of late President Zillur Rahman organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at the Jatiya press Club. Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Monday. While speaking Qamrul said the monstrous grenade attack on Awami League rally on August 21, 2004, was carried out to consolidate power. “The attack was carried out with the direct backing from the state. Then government staged Jodge Miah drama to cover up the real incident, ” he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, BFUJ President Molla Jalal, DUJ President Abu Zafar Surja and General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury. Adviser of the jote Chitta Ranjan Das presided over the event.
