Jatiya Ganotantrik League
A discussion organised on the occasion of Historic Six-Point Day by Jatiya Ganotantrik League was held in Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium in the city’s Topkhana Road on Tuesday. Former Minister and President of Jatiya Jote Barrister Nazmul Huda was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nazmul said no necessity for dialogue with anyone for the country’s development. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership is enough for nation’s uplift, he added. The discussion was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of Barisal District Awami League Advocate Talukder Md Yunus, MP, President and General Secretary of the organisation MA Jalil and Samir Ranjan Das respectively, NAP Bhasani Chairman Mostak Ahmed Bhasani and Organizing Secretary of Jatiya Jote Akkas Ali Khan. Adviser of Ganotantrik League Historian Siraj Uddin Ahmed presided over the programme.
Campaign for Popular Education
A day-long workshop on sustainable education organised jointly by Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE), Bangladesh and a non-government organisation ‘Racine’ was held on Sunday at Circuit House Lounge in Faridpur. Prof. Nazmul Haque of the Institute of Education Research, Dhaka University presented the key-note paper on multi-media on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-4 to ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030. He said that out of seventeen goals set by UN, eight goals have already been achieved within MDG and the rest nine shall have to be achieved within the stipulated time. The workshop was participated by representatives of all education oriented institutions. Partcipants were grouped into six group for making recommendations in the workshop.
