Jatiya Ganotantrik League
A discussion organised by Jatiya Ganotantrik League was held at BNA Conference Hall of Meherba Plaza in the city’s Topkhana Road on Saturday. In the programme the speakers demanded to hold the eleventh parliament election constitutionally. They called upon for the trial of those involved in terrorism. The speakers urged all believing with the perception of the Liberation War to be united for the development of the country. The function was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of Jatiya Party (JP) Sheikh Shahidul Islam, General Secretary of Bangladsh Krishak League Advocate Khondkar Shamsul Haque Reza, President of Joy Bangla Mancha Mufti Masum Billah Nafiyee and Joint General Secretary of Freedom Fighter Rehabilitation Society Abdul Hai Manik. President of the organisation MA Jalil presided over the event.
IDEB Food Engineers Association
A discussion organised by IDEB Food Engineers Association was held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city’s Kakrail. Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam was present at the programme held recently as the chief guest. While speaking Quamrul said the government is working to ensure safe food for healthy life of the people. Alongside the government’s efforts, all stakeholders including private sector should extend their support to provide safe food for the people, he added. Quamrul said Bangladesh has achieved self-sufficiency in food as the government has implemented various programmes to increase food production in the country. The function was also addressed, among others, by President of Bangladesh Beverage Association Harunur Rashid, IDEB President AKM Hamid and representatives of different organisations. Convenor of the association Manzurul Rashid presided over the event.
